The shopper Decision Hierarchy project was a crucial piece of research for our business. It allowed our organisation to stay at the forefront of category understanding and as a result strengthened our relationship with the key retailers. Specific benefits included:
- Influence the retailers on key category dynamics of range and shelf structure - ahead of our competition
- Optimise shelf layouts and range from developing insights based on consumer tensions/trade-offs
- Feed in to store visions for the future - 3-5 year category vision projects
In our view, the project was a complete success and has made a significant contribution to our business and our relationships with trade partners.
We have run a number of studies with Marketing Sciences both qualitative and quantitative in nature. I have always been impressed with their methodical approach, execution of the project and delivery of results. Marketing Sciences did a great job of running Castrol's global pricing research in 2010.
